SERIES: TEST TRIALS AND TEMPTATION
TOPIC: AREAS THAT GOD WILL TEST A MAN
TEXT: John 6:1-6; Judges 7:1-3
The devil brings temptation around our legitimate needs; the problem is not the need but the channel through which the need is met. The devil brings a solution outside God’s channel.
Everything (provision/blessings) God gives will always come as a seed and it has one purpose only; to draw you to himself. Any gift that takes you far from God has another hand/intention; probably the devil has stepped in.
Abusing the gifts and blessings of God is loving the gifts much more than the giver; approaching the giver only when there is a need we know he alone can meet.
The more you can convince God that His blessings in your life will only draw you closer to Him; the more He is ready to enter you with more and vice versa.
God will do anything to get our relationship and fellowship.
Out text shows Jesus though having the solution already, asked the disciples how much of the faith they have in God’s ability; He (Christ) wanted to know if after they have moved with Him still retain the possibility of life’s impossibility.
There surely will be limitation in your work with God when you live in/ retain fear; when we only see the seen or focus on the fulfillment of the God’s promise not adding up.
If 80% of the decisions we take towards obeying God is based on what we see then we would not make progress.
CHARACTERISTICS OF PEOPLE THAT GOD INTENDS TO USE IN THIS ERA
-People who are prophetic
People who are Professionals; the Daniel’s company
AOC OF GOD’S TEST
-God will present an alternative to his will; where we have to choose between pain before gain or gain before the pain.
These alternative would always appear cheaper, faster, easier and attractive. And alternative will bypass the route that ought to make you, but will end up giving you a lower version of what God has intended for you. See Joseph and Portiphar and the later turn around.
-God will test the intent of your heart- Prov 17:3; 1Thess 2:4. At this stage, God’s reward will not come just because of the act alone but the intentions. Deut 8:1-2. Get would delay his promise and watch your intentions; He would weigh your waiting period and only pure, sincere actions will remain. At this level, all that would matter is the intent of our heart/acts.
